option in midfield.

The former FC Midtjylland player has earned praise for his defensive work rate, passing ability and composure under pressure, qualities that have attracted interest from several European clubs.

Fresh challenge awaits

Although Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad had also been linked with the midfielder in recent weeks, Eintracht Frankfurt now appear to be in pole position to complete the transfer.

A move to Germany would provide Onyedika with the opportunity to test himself in one of Europe’s most competitive leagues while continuing his development at a club with a strong reputation for nurturing talent.

The transfer would also strengthen his chances of maintaining a key role in the Super Eagles as Nigeria prepares for future international competitions, including the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and other major tournaments.

Should the deal be finalised as expected, Onyedika will become the latest Nigerian international to feature in the Bundesliga, adding another chapter to the growing list of Super Eagles stars making their mark in Europe’s top leagues.
