EFCC arraigns man over alleged N25.6m beans fraud

The Maiduguri Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned Mohammed Abdullahi Korimi before Justice Aisha Kumaliya of the Borno State High Court in Maiduguri over an alleged N25.6 million fraud.

Korimi was arraigned on Thursday, 16 April 2026, on two counts bordering on criminal misappropriation and obtaining by false pretence, involving N25,647,000.

The Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, Delta State, has matriculated 2,101 students into its 2025/2026 full-time and School of Industrial and Continuing Education programmes.

The Principal and Chief Executive of PTI, Dr Samuel Onoji, administered the institute’s oath to the new students on Friday. He was represented at the ceremony by the Director of Research and Development, Dr Tina Isichei.

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 23 suspected cultists and recovered five firearms during a coordinated statewide crackdown on cultism and violent crime.

The operations, carried out across Ikorodu, Lagos Island, Okoko, Ilasan, Ogba and Iju, targeted criminal hideouts and illegal arms proliferation. Police said the raids were part of ongoing efforts by the Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, to curb cult-related violence in the state.
