EFCC arraigns man over alleged N64m fraud in Onitsha

The Enugu Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arraigned a 29-year-old businessman, Chizoba Emmanuel Dilo, before Justice S. N. Odili of the Enugu State High Court sitting in Onitsha, Anambra State, over an alleged case of stealing to the tune of N64, 000, 000. 00 (Sixty-four million Naira).

Head, Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, on Tuesday, 7 April 2026, stated that Dilo was arraigned on two counts bordering on stealing. The offence is contrary to Section 342 of the Criminal Code Law Cap. 36 Law of Anambra State and punishable under Section 353 (9) of the same Law.

Sanwo-Olu installs Epe monarch as LASU’s sixth chancellor

Lagos State University (LASU) has installed Oba (Dr) Olufolarin Ogunsanwo, the Alara of Ilara Kingdom in Epe, as its sixth chancellor.

The investiture ceremony, held on Tuesday at the Banquet Hall of the State House in Alausa, was presided over by Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the visitor to the university.

The event was attended by members of the institution’s Governing Council, management staff and traditional rulers.

Pro-Jonathan group targets nationwide rally ahead of 2027 polls

A socio-political group, the Goodluck Nigeria Movement (GNM), has unveiled plans to organise a nationwide “200 million-man rally” to urge former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to contest the 2027 presidential election.

The plan was disclosed in a statement issued by the group’s Director of Strategic Communications, Dr Derek Omoleh, following its leadership election, which produced Chief Diekivie Ikiogha as National Chairman and Chief Robert Azibato as National Secretary.
