The Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State Command, Baba Mohammed Azare, has convened the command’s first management and strategic meeting for 2026, attended by senior officers, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and tactical commanders.
Addressing the gathering, Azare commended the officers and men of the command for their dedication, resilience, and commitment to maintaining relative peace and security across the state over the past year.
The National Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ajibola Basiru, has urged the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to step down from the APC-led Federal Government, alleging that his actions pose a threat to the stability of the party.
Basiru cautioned that Wike cannot remain a member of the Federal Executive Council under an APC administration while allegedly stoking division within the party’s structures.
