Lagos State University (LASU) has installed Oba (Dr) Olufolarin Ogunsanwo, the Alara of Ilara Kingdom in Epe, as its sixth chancellor.
The investiture ceremony, held on Tuesday at the Banquet Hall of the State House in Alausa, was presided over by Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the visitor to the university.
The event was attended by members of the institution’s Governing Council, management staff and traditional rulers.
The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday inspected the newly completed Tolu Schools Complex in Ajegunle ahead of its official commissioning in the coming days.
Barring any last-minute changes, President Bola Tinubu is expected to inaugurate the 36 schools within the complex, a flagship project of the Sanwo-Olu administration.

He explained that the proposed reforms are designed to improve access to education and ensure better monitoring of pupils nationwide. According to him, the common entrance examination will be phased out and replaced with a more comprehensive evaluation system based on continuous assessment.
“It will be replaced by Continuous Assessment (CA), which will reflect a pupil’s performance from primary one. Even if a pupil transfers from one school to another, the record will follow them,” he said.

Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, has matriculated 9,498 students for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The matriculation oath was administered to the freshers on Saturday in Abraka, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor of DELSU, Prof. Samuel Asagba, said the students were among tens of thousands of candidates who applied for admission into the university.

The Department of Building, Faculty of Environmental Sciences, Niger Delta University, in Bayelsa State, on Friday enrolled its inaugural cohort into the Nigerian Institute of Building.
The ceremony, held within the institution, centred on the theme: Building the Future; Innovating, Integrating, and Inspiring in the Construction 4.0 Era.
In his address, Dr Christopher Belonwu, Acting Head of Department (HOD) for Building, characterised the event as a day of realisation, introspection, and profound elation.
