The Akwa Ibom State Government has dismissed as false reports alleging that the Deputy Governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, sponsored an adultery bill before the State House of Assembly.
Some online platforms had claimed that the Assembly passed a bill criminalising sexual relationships with married men, purportedly sponsored by the Deputy Governor. The state government, however, described the report as misleading and without factual basis.
The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has urged Akwa Ibom citizens to support the Federal Government’s new tax reform to enhance the economic development of the country.
The Akwa Ibom State Director of NOA, Mr Mkpoutom Mkpoutom, said this while briefing newsmen in Uyo on Monday.
Mkpoutom said that the new tax reform was a crucial milestone in the economic development of the nation.

The Ugborodo Community Management Committee (UCMC) in Delta State, has urged the Department of State Services (DSS) to arrest and prosecute those responsible for the murder of a youth leader, Emiko Onuwaje, in Ogidigben.
Mr Eyengho Besidone, the Secretary of the UCMC, read the demands of the committee at a media briefing over the weekend at Ugborodo Community in Warri South-West Local Government Area of the state.
