Thomas secures key endorsement ahead of 2027 polls

Stakeholders and political leaders in Esit Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State have unanimously endorsed Dr Eunice Thomas as their preferred candidate for the Eket Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The endorsement was reached during a high-level consultation meeting on Tuesday, 14 April 2026, at the residence of the area’s political leader, Mr Benjamin Udobia.

A socio-political group, the Goodluck Nigeria Movement (GNM), has unveiled plans to organise a nationwide “200 million-man rally” to urge former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to contest the 2027 presidential election.
