Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested three suspected armed robbers linked to incidents of conspiracy and armed robbery at an estate in Sangotedo on 11 and 13 April 2026.
Abimbola Adebisi, Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command on Wednesday, 15 April 2026, said the police identified the suspects as Balogun Teslim, Suleman Balogun and Peter Oluwagbemi.
Stakeholders and political leaders in Esit Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State have unanimously endorsed Dr Eunice Thomas as their preferred candidate for the Eket Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was reached during a high-level consultation meeting on Tuesday, 14 April 2026, at the residence of the area’s political leader, Mr Benjamin Udobia.

The Council of Ijaw Traditional Rulers and Elders (CITRE) has defended its decision to suspend elections into executive positions of the Ijaw National Congress (INC), insisting the move is in line with the organisation’s constitution.
In a statement issued on Saturday and titled, “On Constitutional Process and the INC Electoral Timeline,” the Chairman of CITRE, HRM King Bubaraye Dakolo Agada IV, said the suspension was necessary to uphold due process.
