Sowore’s serial blackmail: Senator Ned Nwoko never grabbed any land at Idumuje-Ugboko

Sowore Omoyele, the publisher of Sahara Reporters, has begun re-enacting the same old lies he told more than two years ago — that Senator Ned Nwoko grabbed land in Idumuje-Ugboko and caused the murder of some persons.

As someone who has followed the trauma suffered by the 29 victims of the 2017 Idumuje-Ugboko mayhem, allegedly orchestrated by Prince Chukwunonso Nwoko, the current state-installed Obi of Idumuje-Ugboko, I am in a good position to correct this malicious falsehood against an illustrious son of the community.

In 2015, Prince Ned Nwoko, now a Senator, applied for a 90-hectare piece of land to establish a Sports University in Idumuje-Ugboko. The then Obi of the community, HRM Albert Nwoko, consulted members of the land allocation committee. After a series of verifications and consultations with stakeholders from the four federating villages, the land was duly approved by the late Obi and allocated to Linas International Limited, a company owned by Ned Nwoko.

Enugu North Senator, Okechukwu Ezea, dies at 61

Enugu North Senator Okechukwu Ezea has passed away. His passing was confirmed on Wednesday by his colleague, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of Kogi Central, in a post on her verified Facebook page.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan described Ezea as “a good man — wise and gentle” whose prayers and support strengthened her during some of her most difficult moments in public life.

She wrote: “Rest in peace, Distinguished Senator Okey Ezea. You were a good man! Wise and gentle. Your prayers kept me going through my darkest moments, and I will miss you in chambers.
