PDP condemns abduction, killings at Maga school

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned the deadly attack on Government Girls Comprehensive Senior Secondary School (GGCSS), Maga, in Danko Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, where armed bandits killed the Vice Principal, Hassan Yakubu Makuku, and abducted 25 students.

The party, in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Ini Ememobong, on Monday, 17 November 2025, described the incident as another grim reminder of the escalating insecurity confronting Nigerians, blaming the Tinubu-led APC administration for what it called a persistent failure to prioritise citizens’ safety over political considerations.

Court jails man two years for land racketeering in Maiduguri

Justice Muhammad Maina of the Borno State High Court, Maiduguri, on Friday, November 14, 2025, convicted and sentenced Bukar Umar Alhaji to two years’ imprisonment.

Alhaji was first arraigned on November 27, 2024, by the Maiduguri Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on two counts for the offences of obtaining by false pretence and criminal misappropriation to the tune of N2,100,000.00 (Two Million, One Hundred Thousand Naira).
