SSA presses Tinubu to partner with US against worsening violence

The Southern Solidarity Alliance (SSA) has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to fully cooperate with the government of the United States of America in tackling escalating insecurity and widespread violence across the country.

In a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Ndubuisi Okafor, and Head of Publicity, Comrade Orakpor Emmanuel Ogheneganaye, on Saturday, 15 November 2025, the group described the current wave of killings, displacement, and destruction in several communities as one of Nigeria’s most troubling moments in recent history.

The SSA said countless Nigerians — including women, men, and children — have been killed or forced from their ancestral homes by violent groups, leaving many to live in internally displaced persons (IDP) camps while their communities remain occupied.

NMDPA@4th: Warri Field Office lists achievements

The Warri Field Office of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) has made notable progress, ranging from improving regulatory compliance among marketers to enforcing safety standards across depots, gas facilities, and retail outlets.

Godwin Ikomi, the Delta State Coordinator of NMDPRA, made the disclosure on Thursday while celebrating the Fourth Anniversary of the Authority with the staff of the Warri Field Office.

Ikomi attributed the achievements to the dedication, loyalty, and professionalism of thestaff.

He emphasised that the collective efforts of the staff would continue to reflect the authority’s vision of operational excellence.

Alleged N868m fraud: Court to Ex-AGF Nwabuoku: “You have a case to answer”

Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court, sitting in Maitama, Abuja, on Thursday, November 13, 2025, dismissed a “no-case submission” filed by a former Acting Accountant-General of the Federation, AGF, Chukwunyere Anamekwe Nwabuoku and held that he has a case to answer and should enter his defence in the charges of fraud, levelled against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Nwabuoku is being prosecuted by the EFCC on amended nine-count charges, bordering on money laundering and diversion to the tune of N868,465,000 (Eight Hundred and Sixty-eight Million, Four Hundred and Sixty-five Thousand Naira).

NCoS confirms death of two awaiting trial inmates in A’Ibom

The Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Akwa Ibom State Command, has confirmed the death of two awaiting-trial inmates at the Uyo Custodial Centre following an electrical surge caused by a faulty transformer that supplies power to the facility.

The incident, which occurred about two weeks ago, was triggered by an explosion from a nearby transformer. The blast caused a high-voltage wire to snap and fall within the correctional centre premises, resulting in a total blackout and extensive damage to equipment.
