Nigeria defensive midfielder Salaman Mohammed has joined Rivers United from Enyimba Aba, completing an NPFL move on 3 August 2026.
Mohammed, who is right-footed, arrives at Rivers United after one season with Enyimba. He moved to the Aba club from Kanemi Warriors on 1 August 2025, giving him experience of consecutive transfers within Nigeria’s top-flight competition.
The 2025-26 campaign was Mohammed’s most recent recorded season in the NPFL. He made 41 appearances and played 3,174 minutes, underlining his regular involvement for Enyimba during the campaign.
His arrival gives Rivers United another midfielder who has already accumulated substantial top-flight experience. Mohammed’s listed position is defensive midfield, a role in which he has established himself during his time in the NPFL.
The move also represents the latest step in a brief but active period of movement for Mohammed. He joined Enyimba from Kanemi Warriors at the start of the 2025-26 season before switching to Rivers United 12 months later.
Rivers United and Enyimba compete in the NPFL, meaning Mohammed remains in familiar surroundings as he begins his next chapter. His transfer keeps him in the same national league while changing his club for the second successive season.
Mohammed’s market value is listed at €75,000, while the transfer fee for his move to Rivers United has not been disclosed. No contract expiry date has been announced.
